Woven with meticulous hands, this traditional tussar silk heirloom of Jharkhand is festive and a head-turner.

The wild silk of Jharkhand is mostly grown and woven mostly by the ancient settlers of the region. Sarihan and Laria variety of Tussar insects grow on trees like Arjun and Sal. Tussar silk in coarse in texture, has high tensile strength and higher stress relaxation.
Tussar silk requires great efforts to weave and lot number of days go into weaving one saree.
Tussar is dyed and printed on by various methods of screen printing and hand painting.
Note: The weaving of the raw and wild silk saree is different from regular Mulberry silk sarees. Any blouse or item stitched from this textile must be a relaxed fit and not body-fit. The threads are pure and not very closely Woven and may come apart when bound tightly for stitching.
